How much should I expect a recharge to cost?

I took my SVX to the dealer and they charged me $5.60 for 2 lbs of freon and $102.00 for the labor. They also installed $13.79 worth of freon dye. Problem is, it didn't solve any problem, the freon didn't stay in, and they want to charge me $300 to pull out the evaporator case from under the dash just to "tell me" if that's where the leak is at.

Ok, so the re-charge isn't as expensive as I thought. I was thinking it would be more than that. Thanks for the info

I just did mine at the dealer about a week ago. There was a leak in the system so he had to find it...took about 30 min more in labor. Cost $184 total for the recharge, and (as it turned out) bolt tighten. Of course this was on the day they just soaked my for $3650 for my new tranny....so who knows...maybe they were just kicking me when I was down.
