Thumbs up Another SVX for the mix

I have just been given the SVX that was owned by Barry Jenkin...he of Hauraki radio fame. This was his first SVX; he still has another.
It is a 91 black over silver with insert seats and no sunroof or spoiler. A couple of computer modules and the air con pump have already been pillaged. I will likely use the radiator fans...and a window switch...but other than that she's complete. Only done 172K. Anyone interested, I am in West Auckland

Re: Another SVX for the mix

Hey Ian,

has it got the rear window blower - I noticed the switch in the gear lever area?

If so I am keen to buy it, currently in the USA on holiday getting back around 10th October.

PM me a price for complete wiring, from relay power source through to the switch then timer module & on to the fan area.

May think about buying some other stuff - will get in contact in next couple of weeks.

thanks

Steve

Re: Another SVX for the mix

No problems y'all.
Just after getting it home I found that my air con idler pulley was kaput, frozen solid - and the belt had failed. Though the pump had already gone on the 'parts mobile', the idler assembly now has a new home. Lucky, eh!
Maybe that event accounted for the l/hand radiator fan making strange wheezing sounds...also now replaced.
Next will be the front hubs, either one or both, once I have worked out how to do this efficiently. At least one of my front wheel bearings is noisily tuning up for catastrophic failure and it makes financial sense to use what I now have rather than line Winger's pockets (bless their little cotton soxs).
I may pull the cluster apart to get at those little gear position indicators, and I am thinking about hangng onto the glass, and also the lights, but I won't need that fan assembly in the rear or (touch wood) the air con display on the dash; mine still works

The rego says first licensed NZ 97, which would make it a JDM.

Re: Another SVX for the mix

some one mentioned a Blower in the Back???

There was some kind of solar powered air filtration unit that was optional, never seen one, always thought it was neat idea.Let me know what you are going to part out. I'm in usa so. I am looking for a few JDM bits.

No solar powered bits here. Just a fan unit. Is it an air purifier?
Had a mobile mechanic come swap out the l/front hub Friday. Amazing how quiet it is now. How long had it been on the way out and making noises? Quite a while. Note to self; the steering pump looks like it's leaking. Another job?
The seats are missing a couple of lever covers, but look fine. My fuel gauge often goes from full to zero and back...and someone said (I think) that changing just the sender is a real mission. So maybe I have to do a tank swap?
