Misfires!

After a long run of having a nice transmission put in, I got my subie back! But now I've driven around, and the alternator died. I pulled the battery for charging, and pulled the alternator to swap it. After much hunting and a trip to parks, I had a new alt in. Ran fine, no problems. Took her out on the highway, and did a bit of city driving, and pulled into my garage. The car began to stumble, and misfire, and was barely running, and the check engine light was flashing. I'd go to drive it down the street, and it sounded like it was running on far less than six cylinders. Idling in the garage, you could hear backfires, and the whole car shook, as rpms dropped to 250 with no ac on.

Any ideas as to what I should check? Does the SVX need an ecu reset after power loss to relearn for wear?

Check to see what the ECU trouble code is.

Re: Misfires!

Finally got it sorted, it was a bad COP. Though the resistance tested fine on it, it just wasn't giving quite enough spark. Swapped it with a new one, and it ran great. Thanks for the tips, and help!
