Re: Dead as a Dodo!
Will definitely check the electricals - thanks for the tips. Subaru wants over $1300 for a new fuel pump and OE replacements from the US range from approx $60 to $120.
http://www.partstrain.com/store/?PN=...universal:0%29 I notice there is a Bosch in there. Anyone had experience with any of the brands? |

Re: Dead as a Dodo!
Matt,
I can't argue with you about the pump in a race car, I am just not convinced that they will stand the same years of life as the standard subaru one. I think you may be able to get a pump from MRT in Sydney as I think they have a number of different ones aviable for Subaru's. Tony

Re: Dead as a Dodo!
Well finally it all came clear after pulling out the pump. It worked fine on the bench but not in the tank! Bad contact on the connector between outside and inside the tank. Cleaning up and crimping the connector will do the job but an interesting problem. Might have to replace the whole of the tank cap unit eventually! See picture! I guess it's lucky the tank didn't blow up looking at the arcing that may have been happening on the contact!:

Re: Dead as a Dodo!
Happy to say I am mobile again after having the contact cleaned up and tightened to make sure a good electrical connection is in place
