Lost my job today

Well after being employed by the same company for the past 14 yrs I was let go today along with 7 others due to the "economy" Oh well the search begins for something new. I guess I can thank the a$$holes in the stock market, mortgage, big corporations and our benign government for handing me this mess. Thanks for screwing the working people of American once again you greedy basatards

Thanks for the support I'll need it. Just sucks but could use a break. At least I got severence pay and had some money saved up to get me thru.

That is key, no one saves anymore and that is what truely got this country screwed. People buying everything on credit and never saving a penny. Almost all major factories around here have layed off well past 15 yr exp mark Yet surprisingly as many people have lost their jobs around here, the housing market has only declined around 5%.

Sorry to hear that. Well don't be sad bro, if your company cannot appreciate your loyalty to it for the last 14 years, I then think you should consider it a neutral situation rather than a "loss".

Thanks for all of the support. The hardest part was telling my kids but in a way it was a relief, it was hard to get motivated over the same boring job after 14 yrs. I might be able to get a local automotive shop to hire me and it would be something I would like to do. Funny thing is every job I have ever had I have been hired or fired in the 3rd week of May. Maybe I should take a vacation during this week

From what I have been hearing from x-coworkers over the past few days they got rid of the "good" supervisors which included me and 7 others. I had one of my old employees call me yesterday and say "Whats up boss?" which made me feel better. He then went on and told me that anyone over him in the future will not get that respect Anyway Im having some good leads and hope to get into something quick whereas my severance pay can go straight into savings and paying off some bills. Once again thanks to you all
