sway bar bushings etc.

I am wondering about doing some work to both my bars. I was wondering about working on the end links too. I asked OT in a PM for some advise about a product he sells but I haven't heard back yet. Can someone clarify some things for me???

I am planning on buying the bushings from Summit (unless someone else has a better idea)

I want to do what ever it is to the end links to freshen them up (Is this his 20 min mod?) Are the front and back end link thingys the same? I saw that Eric did some of this work but i want clarification on what to buy and where.

To remove the front bar do i need to undo the crimp thing at the end of the bar on the driver side?

Can someone either help me out a little here or direct me to a more "to the point" understanding of what I need and where to get it so i can do this ASAP.

Re: sway bar bushings etc.

Search will get you lots of info on the subject, but in a nutshell:

1. Bushings can be had from Summit. The part numbers are ENS-9-5105 for the front, and ENS-9-5121 for the rear. The rears are a direct fit bolt on, the fronts require some work to fit. If you want to hold off a bit, Earthworm is working towards getting a set of direct fit bushings made up.

2. Front and rear endlinks are not the same, not even close.

3. The $20/20 min mod involves the rear endlinks. You replace the rubber bushing at the top with a much stiffer material. OT sells the parts to make it happen.

4. Removing the front swaybar can take a bit of work. You'll need to undo the joint at the drivers side and then pull the bar out toward the pass side. It takes some wiggling to get it out past the brake flex line.

Can someone clarify some things for me???Sure.

I am planning on buying the bushings from Summit (unless someone else has a better idea)Summit is fine.

I want to do what ever it is to the end links to freshen them up (Is this his 20 min mod?) Yes.
Are the front and back end link thingys the same? No.

To remove the front bar do i need to undo the crimp thing at the end of the bar on the driver side? To install the modified front anti-sway bar bushings, you do not NEED to remove the bar, but removing the drivers side end will help.

Can someone either help me out a little here or direct me to a more "to the point" understanding of what I need and where to get it so i can do this ASAP.

Sorry, I've been in the garage for days.
(the pm was only at 3:18 yesterday.....)

Re: sway bar bushings etc.

I think I might take you up on that offer. I'm still a little "green" yet to these things. We'll talk soon.

Thanks!

Re: sway bar bushings etc.

Wow... I wish there was a how-to like that for everything. Very detailed with crisp, easy to see pics. Great job!
