Re: ej22t build
Neither the ej20 or ej25 pistons will fir the ej22... I'm not sure exactly but I think either crawford or Cosworth made EJ22 parts... Honestly though, you'll need to search in the NASIOC engine section... You'll get better advice there then you EVER will on this forum...

Re: ej22t build
Don't bother with the 2.5 heads, way too much work for not much gain, better off sourcing some of the Japanese twin cam heads for the JDM Legacy Turbo, or just do a port and polish + port match on your stock heads. There is a good writeup over at www.legacycentral.org
As for the internals, I'm pretty sure the EJ22T has forged internals, at least the crank and rods, not sure about the pistons. You COULD go with NA 2.2 pistons, that will bump your compression up and will give your more bottom end grunt, however you won't be able to run as much boost, and you will definitely want to run an intercooler...

Re: ej22t build
Pfft. Edwin(PacSTi) and Phil(BACS2.5) were getting like 400hp with stock internals. I don't see any reason to go from that.

the bolt pattern on the ej22 is straight across for all of the intake mounting points, and n/a and ej257 are a little offset, like diagonal. Unless you are going to tune with a standalone, I'd do a 205 or 257 build.

Re: ej22t build
anyone know the highest amount of psi the ecu can compinsate for? with no piggy back system or chip, but with the 440's injectors n stuff?

Re: ej22t build
stock internals, crank rods both forged and pistons? on the ej22t is forged.
the maf is the limiting factor of how much boost you can crank up. think with stock ecu, intercooled, it will go no more about 14psi with no Engine management to take care of the maf factor. A stock EJ22T block with stock bottom end is good for 25-30 psi all day long with management and supporting mods
