Brake light

My brake light came on today when I got in the car today but the parking brake wasn't engaged. It didn't do this yesterday at all or ever before. I also pulled the lever back multiple times thinking that it was stuck but the light was still on. When driving it doesn't feel like the brakes are on from the parking brake. ANY HELP?

Re: Brake light

Check your brake fluid level..... low fluid will kick on the light.

Re: Brake light

Yeah you may have to jiggle it too a bit, sometimes they stick. The only other thing could be the push switch on the parking brake sticking. The ABS has its own warning light if I recall correctly.

Re: Brake light

Oh and don't overfill it. Mine would go on because it would pressurize some when warm since the dealer monkey just filled it to the brim cold....

Re: Brake light

One thing also that can trigger that is the cap. Mine had a nice crack according to OT and it was causing my Brake Light to come on occasionally specially when cold.
