I would not do this to save money!
It took me three hours with a lift and a shop size drill press.
I am hoping these are stronger than stock.
LOL. Yeah, I wouldn't do it to save $24 either.
For me, the saving is more like $350, so it's a bit more worthwhile. Plus, as you said, they do look stronger.

Re: Stabiliser....

I just had a phone call from Brett in Wales. He's been reading this thread but he can't post because he is having problems logging in.

He found some drop links from http://www.importcarparts.co.uk for £28 a pair. The part number is SSL3100 and they drop straight in without needing to drill the antiroll bar.

I looked on and found "Trupart SSL3100". They are for a Volvo V40 1995-2003 model. Some further digging reveals that they also fit the Mitsubishi Carisma, which makes sense because the V40 and Carisma are mechanically the same car.

He's hoping to make it to the JAE on Saturday morning.

Re: Stabiliser....

Yeap, was trying to find some specifications on those... but didn't have time yet.

It would be a great find though, the price seems reasonable especially if they are better than OEM end links that we have now.

Regardless, thanks for sharing your find with us! Got to love

Re: Stabiliser....

As I had already bought the Vauxhall Omega links and started to drill the antiroll bar, I decided to continue down that path rather than investigate Brett's Volvo option.

I heated the end of the antiroll bar until it went red, then let it cool. Then I oiled it and drilled at 75 rpm with a titanium coated bit. This time it drilled easy, about 25 minutes per side, without ruining the drill bit. The links bolted up perfectly.

I forgot to take a photo of them installed.

Re: Stabiliser....

Vauxhall Omega links installed. Perfect fit after a bit of drilling:
