obd2 question

well i have a 96 svx, i want to do an exhuast where its dual piping from the manifold, i dont want the two pipings to connect,i {want real dual exhuast} problem is, i have a cat that is a 2 to 1 which has a sensor in it, if i unplug this sensor and customize my exhuast will it run alright with it unplugged and i will just have to live with the CEL on?
