H-6 engine cover clips

My H-6 engine cover clips would disappear about every month. I would replace them with brand new ones and in a few weeks one or both would be missing. I even replaced the little rubber gromets that the clips slide down into with no positive affect. A local shop told me about another Subaru clip that they use for the H-6 covers when they do eg33 engine swaps into VW Vanagons. I bought some and they work great. They have been in the car now for about 4 months and are actually still there. The Subaru part number is 90914007. In my opinion Subaru should start selling these clips as the H-6 cover clips instead of the current ones. Just thought I'd share that info in case anyone else had or is having this issue.

My Boxer engine cover stays put with no clips at all, but I want them for aesthetic value. how much are these, and do they look any different?

I checked with one Subaru dealer and they said that number was invalid and not in their parts system.

A second one said they had them and that they were some sort of bumper clips.

No clips = easy to remove = easy to pass tech at the autocross when they want to see your throttle return springs

I can understand wanting them for aesthetics, though.

Yeah I just wanted them mainly for aesthetic value because it bugs me when I see something missing. They look a little different than the stock ones, but not in a bad way. I believe I paid about $2.25 a piece for them. I bought 6 just because I like to stock pile SVX parts. You are right svxcess they are bumper cover clips off some newer Subaru car.

I had none, but went to Lowes, or Home Depot, (forget) and got some for 59 cents for a package of 2. I don't know what the OE look like, but these work. In the hardware isle.

My SVX has been in my family's possesion for about 4 years now without ever having the clips. They might look nice though, never thought about it.

Cool..I think I will pick some up too. I have never had a problem losing clips. The only time they disappear is when I have to put her in the shop and the mechanics lose them.
