Best place to get brakes?

I would like to find the best place to get ceramic pads and drilled or slotted rotors. My pads are worn out and need to be replaced soon and my rotors will need to be replaced also. How much am i looking at for 4 rotors? Are the ones on ebay ok? Ive seen the ones on ebay go from anywhere between 175-250 for 4. Whats the best place for ceramic pads and how much should all 4 cost?

I got ceramic pads from The Tirerack for my former SVX - Akebono Pro Act. They were great on the street and during autoX's! Can't remember what they ran me with shipping but I want to say around $120-$140.

Members have had good experiences with i-rotors on Ebay. AmazonParrot in my town has a set on his car and they've held up very well over the last 2+ years. Raceconcepts is another option, but a member recently had a problem with them so you'll have to decide if that's a vendor you'd want to buy from.

Thanks Chike. Do you remember how much the rotors cost for Amazon parrot? 120ish is too much to pay for pads for me. I'd rather put more money into other repairs. Just regular good ol pads will work fine I guess.

When I got my pads I bought "Autospecialty" semi-metalic pads off ebay. Composition wise they are similar to the EBC greenstuff pads, and I believe they cost me about $30.

Are you referring to KVR? I have those for my fronts. I find I have to warm them up before they become effective otherwise require more pedal effort for normal stops. Good for racing applications, bad for everyday driving.

i-rotors is great to deal with and fast. I just got some SS brake lines and am very happy with them.

I've been buying from Bein at Race Concepts for years and have always been treated very well.
Any time I had an issue he came through with flying colors!
The issue to which my friend Chi ke refers, is one of miscommunication.
I was on the phone to Bein today, and there is more to the story than has been presented here.
I will continue to buy from Bein @ Race Concepts and have the highest reguard for both him, and his products.

I should be good to go with the EBC OEM replacements too right? Those are only 30 bucks for a set. I dont necessarily have to have ceramic pads...it was just a thought. As long as the car stops im good

Yeah, those would be fine also. Really, if you're not driving your car to the limit there's no need to spend a fortune on the "best" brake parts available. For normal daily driving OEM brakes are fine.

Don't forget to bleed the brakes. Maybe even flush out all the old fluid. Installing new pads/rotors without bleeding may leave you wondering why you just spent all that money. Meaning, the brakes may not work as well as you'd hoped.

It recently occurred to me that my SVX had slotted/drilled rotors and Axxis Metal Masters when I bought it. Point is, I've never really experienced completely stock brakes on an SVX. So maybe I'm way off when I say the stock brakes are adequate.

I now have carbon metalic pads and SS brake hoses. If I ever get it back on the road it should stop nicely.

I've never used the OEM+ EBC pads. But I do have Green Stuffs on my SVX and my girlfriends Focus. Great grip and low dust. Not too terribly expensive. I recently bought new rotors from Ebay from R1 Concepts and SS lines from Dayle. All in all with Pads, Rotors, and Lines I spent a little over $300.
