Question How do I replace just the center console lock button instead of the entire thing?

The lock button is broken and falls out occasionally but I can still push it down to open the storage compartment. Do I have to replace the entire center console or is there a way to just replace the button?

I've circled what exactly is broken:

I don't know, but I have to do the same exact thing. My button's all the way off, so the console just pops up whenever it feels like. I'd assume that you would have to replace the entire thing, but I surely hope not. Does anyone know the part number for the locking mechanism, and about how much it runs?

It looks like the lock is a seperate piece, so you should be able to replace just that part. Check it out:

Cool, hope you're right. I'll order one along with a radiator from Liberty.

Mine is broken as well. I always thought I had to replace the whole console.

Good luck, I hope it works. Be sure to report back.

Has anyone replaced their center console "lock"? Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get at it?

i replaced mine several months ago. i'm not very mechanically-minded, so i pried up the plastic-coated foam around it and screwed it in. best $16.42 i've ever spent on the car.
