Automatic Seat Belt Operation

WHEN I BOUGHT MY 92 SVX THE AUTOMATIC SHOULDER BELT WAS STUCK IN THE FORWARD POSITION, I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRACK.

I SWITCHED THE SEAT BELT ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WITH THE MATCHING ONE THAT PROVIDES POWER FOR THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND FOUND THAT I COULD RUN THE SHOULDER STRAP BACK AND FORTH USING THE FRONT CONTROL BUTTON FOR THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW.

OK SO THE TRACK IS OK, BUT I PUT THE ONE FROM MY 94 PARTS CAR IN ANYWAY JUST INCASE THERE WAS A SWITCH OR SOMETHEING BURNED OUT SOMEWHERE. IT DIDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING.

I CHECKED THE CONNECTION FOR THE AUTOMATIC SHOULDER STRAP MOVER AND IT DOESN'T HAVE POWER, NOT EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED.

ALSO THE LIGHTED VANITY MIRROR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SHORTED OUT. ARE THEY ON THE SAME FUSE?

I HAVE DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED THE BATTERY AS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS.

ANY IDEAS AS TO HOW TO MAKE IT WORK OR RESTORE POWER TO THE CONNECTOR?

One thing we have found in the past is that if the visor is shorted, all kinds of wierd stuff starts to happen, or not happen (work). I would fix the wires and then see if it starts to work again. Check the How-To Documents if you need any references to it or post again.

PS Your Cap Lock is on.

automatic shoulder belt fixed

i switched the control unit for the seatbelt which is mounted in the trunk of the car not on the bottom of the trunk lid but further forward.
this didn't work until i left the battery disconnected overnight.
so it works again.
thanks dwayn
