Well, as I said, feel free to check my math. I certainly don't discount the possibility that I'm wrong. But I also just created a 20-degree slope in the 3D package in my computer and it certainly looks steep. It's no black diamond ski slope, but add some moguls to it and it'd be a good time.

As for the SVX vs SUVs on snow, I'd say that the SVX is better than most SUVs in [/i]most[/i] situations. I don't buy anybody's claims that the car is plowing through 12 inches of snow. If we're talking 7 inches of hardpack and then 5 inches of power, sure. I've done that. But 12 inches of fresh snow on pavement, forget it.

I had a 4WD Toyota pickup before the SVX. It was fantastic, I thought. Then I bought the SVX and found out that, in most situations, the SVX was far more controllable and safe. But there were some things my truck could do that the SVX couldn't - number one being really deep snow.

for you mr.pocket... i did this one stop-and-go on the slippery wet snow...after the four wheels spinning for a while...the SVX just climbed up steadily....there's one time i could smell my rubbers burning.....going down is scary.....is hard to stop this wonderful machine.

Thanks for posting the pictures, man. You did a good job of showing how steep the road is - photos typically belie a hill's treachery.

That is a steep road, indeed. You should measure the angle (protractor and a plum should do it) and talk to Guinness if it's more than a 35% grade.
