Good choice! I'm sure that with two SVXes, I'll never be truly "finished" fixing things. ET needs body work. I'm trying to decide whether to get a C/F hood with a scoop for funzies, or go stock. She needs a FR fender, hood, front bumper cover and some nasty New York Parking dents and dings out of the pass'r's side door. I've tried the "Ding King" with varying levels of success (mostly *not* successful), so, I'm going to have to leave it to a professional. And, what do you mean "have a life." The SVX and The Network ARE my life. And, I love it, despite the occasional "rough spots."

i still have my Ding King in the box - i never got around to trying it on my nickel-sized door dings. maybe next spring....
"having a life" - not coming home from work and going straight to the garage to work on the car until bedtime, muttering unintelligible vulgarities the whole time, going on vacations (what's that?), etc. you know, the stuff normal people do.

Speaking of 'pinched'...............
I completed my repairs (I thought my post got dumped and you guys wouldn't see it- I didn't feel like re-typing it again....) The right side knock sensor is kind of buried behind the power steering pump on the block. I had to pull the alternator to have room to wrench it out. It turns out that when I removed the bracket for the PS reservoir to replace the O-ring, I managed to mash the cable for the knock sensor under the bracket. Apparently, the shield on the cable shorted to the center conductor and forced the sensor error. I had the new sensor- so I replaced it. I may have been able to 're-work' the cable, but it wouldn't have been worth the bother. I replaced the high-pressure PS hose and the leak seems to have gone away. I've still got to get the engine compartment pressure washed, though, to clear up the mess. Glad to hear that you got your car back finally. It sounds like it was worth the wait. I've still got to get the new struts on, but the job should go easier since I scored (kinda-sorta- long story..... ) a set of original manuals on eBay (sort of..) Wish me luck! Wish we could have 'hooked up'. (see my new thread regarding Picklesb1tch- remember him?) Regards, -Mark |

I've power-washed it a whole bunch of times before with no ill effects. I think once or twice over the years I managed to get enough water on the engine (my Legacy?) to have it stumble some when re-started. It always looks so much nicer afterwards; the dust, dirt and oil goes away.
Obviously you've goto be a little careful where you spray, but as I said, I've done it lots of times. -Mark |

Yeah, I just about messed my pants when Doug Mohr (mohrds) opened his hood at a car wash at the Reading Meet and started blowing water all over his engine. But, he also says he's done it lots o' times.
