1994 Svx Le?
I've been looking at buying a very particular SVX, and the seller advertised it as a 1994 L series. When I Carfax'd it, it was reported as a 1994 LE. I have heard of the LE series before, but never looked into the specs. Does anyone know the technical nature of the LE and how it differs from the L/LS series?
Thanks! |

Check out this link for details on SVX models:
http://www.cars101.com/subaru_svx.html It will tell you what model it is by the VIN number. Also lists all the standard equipment and options for particular model. Note that the 1994 models (other than LSi) are FWD. If you go to Reno/Tahoe a lot during the winter, you might want to look for an AWD model. Cheers, Matt |

The carfax report of an LE is probably just a typo. Or maybe they confused it with a Toyota Camry. :-)

mbtoloczko, on the 1995 L series, AWD was included in an optional package...
Anyways, after thoroughly reading through Joe Spitz's page ( http://www.cars101.com/subaru_svx.html ), this is what I found out: The 1994 L series has the following characters in the VIN#, starting at the fifth character from the left: X33. The 1994 LS series has the following characters in the VIN#, starting at the fifth character form the left: X34. The 1994 LSi series has the following characters in the VIN#, starting at the fifth character from the left: X35. The VIN# of the SVX I am looking at is: JF1CX3232RK****72. And interestingly enough, the sequence starting at the fifth character from the left is: X32. This doesn't fit under the L, LS, or LSi VIN# specs. Apparently, it is some different model, most likely being an LE (cause that's what CARFAX tells me!). Anybody have any other info? I'm way curious! Thanks! |

a 94 LE is a FWD model with one airbag and power seatbelts. The L is a FWD model with two airbags and manual seatbelts.
Otherwise they are are same. Mike Kerven Subaru |
