Been curious...

I did the 'rough-in' on the VW bio-diesel today. should be ready to shoot by saturday. Since I was wondering how 'Liquid Silver' would look against dark Graphite, the VW will be the 'test'!!

I want to use the dark graphite on my 92 silver and black SVX, since another member has a 'slate' tri-tone.
I saw a Silver VW pickup on the way to work the other day. THE first thing that hit my brain was the ABSENCE of contrast!! Otherwise, it was a sweet truck!!

Does anyone have some alloy wheels that will fit an 82 Rabbit??
I gotta get the yard cleared out so I can haul some more Subis home!!

Got three walls of the lil' greenhouse put up tonight. I will be putting enough overhang on the north wall to set the pic-nic table and grill. That way the SVX will have the carpoirt to sleep in.
I'll be 'extending' the carport so the 47-440 has a bed too.

If I keep up, I won't even have a back yard!! Just a LOT of red tin with cars under it!! ( What's NOT to LIKE!!??!!)

Jerry, that looks beautiful, a seriously good job.

It is not really a Euro look, as the tri tones were mainly Japan, but some made it to OZ I think. I have never seen a Euro one that was not a second hand import. With that spoiler it would be OZ look. The Japanese ones have the spoiler that wraps round the sides of the trunk lid.

Nice job

Joe

TY, Joe!!
We just laid out what was available and let Di pick what she liked. When I do my 92 it will be a 'tri' also. I will be using a really dark graphite on the bottom.
I'm going to be shooting my VW Rabbitt on tuesday. All bodywork is finished. I would have sprayed it over the weekend but an AUTOCROSS got in the way!!
I will be spraying 'Liquid Silver and dark graphite' on it to see if I like the look.
It's a lot better to shoot the colors on a VW as a test. SVXie are a lot harder to tape!

Silly Rabbit is all cleaned up and taped! Paint will fly tonight!!
Hauled the next 'modified' project home over the weekend. It's still on the dolly till I get that dump truck back together.

Rabbit looks great!! Toyota parked in 'queue', Spent the evening 'boxing' the frame on the 32 chevy project and creating some spring perches.
I mentioned to me Bro, that I couldn't work on cars at home since it was raining and the 30 Willys was in the way. He said, " Then work on the Willys!!" Duhhh, I never THOUGHT of that!!!!
Well, I dug the Willys out from under the 'stuff' that was piled on it and started planning!!
First thing was to hang the light fixtures that were stacked on the roof, then install the lightbulbs into the fixtures that were stored on the roof, next I moved the camping gear that was piled on the roof, then I loaded the fenders into the Outback to haul them to bro's shop. Since I am helping him get his 32 Chevy ready, He can spend a little time on my fenders while I make it drive.( it already runs, since I installed a fresh Mopar 318 last fall)
Yea, this fits into the SVX catigory. The 30 Willys has SVX suspension, brakes and steering!!

The Worlds FIRST SVX Street Rod!!

I have 350 pics stored on camera and CDs but don't have the time to load them, since I spend all my time DOING stuff!!

It looks like a car that Al Capone would have loved in the thirties! Big back seat for guns and moneybags and a 6 cylender engine that made 60 HP!!

It makes a lot more ponys now and has Subaru stuff to make it handle and stop better than ever!!
I've been shooting a lot of pics. when I get a chance, I will dump them into my photobucket.(That is a lot easier than trying to downsize them for here)

There are 40 pics on the camera and 350 on a CD. Then there are the 300 that I have saved to 'documents' so I could dump out the card.

I am shooting everything!! I'm just too busy to wait for 20 min to upload 1 pic!! I can build a repair pannel in 15 min!! I can't waste 20 min on a picture!!

I posted a link on "Not exactly SVX", since only 1/2 the pics contain SVXi. Henry and Di's cars are there. The rest are on-going projects that we are playing with.
