Idle Air Control Valve Gasket

I am working on cleaning my intake manifold so everything is removed and getting degreased/degrimed. I took the Idle Air Control Valve off and noticed there was a gasket. I found the writeup on how to clean the intake system written by billb from 2005. In that he mentioned the part number for this gasket as 22659AA060. This is where I get confused.

Let me start by showing this picture of the old still in place gasket:

With that said I looked up the part number from the write-up and this is what was shown:

I happen to have the engine seal kit with all the bits sitting in a box so I thought I would look there since it had the throttle and intake gaskets included. In that seal kit there was the gasket as shown in the second image. In this picture you can see them side-by-side. The old on the left and the "new" on the right:

So with all that said, is this just a newer design of the IACV gasket? Everything looks like it will line-up but I just wanted to know if others noticed this as well.

Re: Idle Air Control Valve Gasket

Though out the 90's Subaru used idle control valves their engines
they were the source of many problems from noise to idle concerns
they changed they valve and gasket many times
that one will work fine

Re: Idle Air Control Valve Gasket

Interesting.

What year model is your SVX? Mine is a 93 and I had the "newer" style gasket when I went to replace it.

Its a 94.
