Wheels - STi's - What size tyres?

I have just picked up these second hand '05 STi wheels. They were coverd in break dust and had heaps of tar spots on them. Pretty happy with the way the cleaned up. What size tyres do you think would be best. I was thinking 225/45/17. Cam, LegacyAu has put 235/45/17 on his. I am interested in your thoughts on tyre selection for the STi rims. Thanks Col

Re: Wheels - STi's - What size tyres?

Are those the 17x7.5 or 17x8 version? On the 7.5" wide I would stick to the 225/45/17 size. With the 8" wide you could go up to a 245/40/17 if you want, although stock STi size on those is still 225/45. I have the 17x8 STi goldies on my car and run 245/40/17 General Exclaim UHP's.

The 7.5" are the '04 rims and are 5x100. The '05+ rims only come in 8".

Those are STi limited wheels which mean they are '06+ (which are still 17x8 with a 5x114.3 pattern).

Re: Wheels - STi's - What size tyres?

The stock tires they come with are the RE-070's ina 225/45/17... Those are great tires, but when mine die I will be replacing them with 245/40/17's brand still undecided.....
