Re: Possible all Aluminum Radiator group buy

In addition to the fan connectors I would be interested in knowing the CFM of the fan(s) compared to the stock units.

Then again, having a matching shroud with two new fans for a hundred sounds pretty tempting. Especially if they are lower profile.

My only peeve is that he did not BCC all of his recipients so everyone's email is visible to everyone else!!!!

Re: Possible all Aluminum Radiator group buy

I'd forsure be interested in the fan shroud. Assuming it would be delivered the same time as the radiator......

Heard tell that AMR will accept orders until production actually starts.

Very nice! That would be worthwhile even without the aluminum rad.

Re: Possible all Aluminum Radiator group buy

I need to start saving up for one, since I patched my upper hose neck with a steel tube sleeved insert and epoxy (auction car and hood was into it and cracked the top neck)
Trying to find a way to save some money up for one.
MY patch sleeved repair seems to be holding for the last couple years, but who knows how long it will go, but I never really drive the 97SVX anyhow….

Wonder how the ATF lines and ATF cooling go on this particular one compared to oem. I would hope the ATF cooling goes at least as good as OEM, but who knows. Even better if it cooled ATF much better...

I have the first prototype, and a 6 speed so the trans cooler was unused, but Art (I don't recall his name on here) has an auto and got the second prototype he says trans temps are much better then with oem radiator

Re: Possible all Aluminum Radiator group buy

Got a response back about the fans. I was hoping for more details but he just said they are 2 12” slim fans rated just over 1500 cfm.

Some quick searching on Google comes up with generic, universal units that look and fit that description. Most are on eBay unfortunately. My second thought would be to get the shroud with the hope of using better made fans with possibly higher CFM and lower DB that would fit the same opening.

I am not a radiator fan expert but Spal Electric fans seem to be highly rated.

Re: Possible all Aluminum Radiator group buy

You can find all the drama unfolding on Facebook. Over 40 comments. Including AMR. Started by Samuel Lopez of SVX Nation.

https://www.facebook.com/search/top/...0lopez%20posts

A real mudslinging event. Threats, accusations, insults, defenses. AMR is defending their delays in production, and I am not sure how many of the comments are from those just venting, or those who actually have placed an order and have a financial stake and a definite need.

The opening shot across his bow goes like this:

"So here I go again... stirring the pot because it's what I'm good at. AMR Engineering, Andy Reyes. Have you even touched the SVX project in this last month? Two weeks from now I will be asking for a full refund if there are no radiators being shipped out. Have a good day working on that EVO X of yours, since that's the only thing you work on."
