Re-gassed Struts

Does anyone have any experience or ever had there struts regassed. A friend of mine needs rear struts for his sons 95 Impreza Awd 2.2 coupe, and a guy Im buying new struts for my outback said he had a friend regas them, and wants $60 a piece with springs included for them. Ive never heard of this being done, and I personally wouldnt buy them.

Re: Re-gassed Struts

Does he also replace the seals? If so, and it's something he has experience with, I'd give it a shot. SVX struts aren't anything special compared to any other strut.

What Dave said, basically that's what a koni rebuild is, It is just we live in a world where parts replacing is the norm not parts rebuilding.

Like Dave said, struts are struts, maybe this will help?

This is exactly what my tech guy did to the struts.

There are no springs included IN the strut housing, just a combination of both engine and tranny oil inside.
