The kind of performance a few of us here can remember and only a most here have not experienced. Who needs AWD or ABS... She's a garage queen anyway! Just being able to move a wrench freely in an engine bay and not having to have hands the size of a seven-year-old to do it Counting the total number of vacuum hoses on one hand. Being able to change all the plugs and valve cover gaskets in under an hour. When dropping a part into the engine bay was no big deal. .

I remember cool summer nights, rumbling big blocks, long stretches of open road, tons of American steel, carbs the size of basketballs, cavernous engine bays...
I've forgotten about sheered lug nuts, 6 miles per gallon, no handling... 66 Vette? Money's no object? Do it!

I'm about to throw a monkey wrench into things but, what about a s60 R?
Volvo's are extremely reliable, awd, they eat the highway miles, and it does have about 300hp. I'm a little biased because I grew up in the back of a Volvo wagon. http://www.cars.com/volvo/s60/2005/standard-equipment/

Well, the possibility of trading for the 2011 Legacy GT is gone. I think the possible drawbacks I raised in the beginning finally sank in.
She can get her performance fix in the polo, while we continue to look for her original choice... .
