Metal particles in the radiator coolant.
Installed new radiator (flushed out prior to install) filled with just water and fllushed out the system a few more times and ran it and let cool and flushed it out a few more times, and I have really small metal particles in the radiator water, some stick to a magnet, little sparklies in the drain pan. Like panning for frigin aluminum.
Assuming it can only be the water pump, Please tell me, has anyone ever experienced a water pump going out like this (destroying itself ) on an SVX? I have never seen anything like it my whole life of working on cars. Thanks for the help. M7 |

Afterthought: If you truly want to get all this crap out, remove the thermostat, and the heater hoses that attach to the waterpump housing, and use a garden hose to flush water in EVERY hose, until what comes out is clear. I had to do this when I did my waterpump and it took a good 45 min to flush out all the metal bits from every hose.
