manual window

Now it's been awhile since I last posted. I just wanted to say hi and ask if anyone has thought about converting our power windows to manual.Personally I don't care for power windows and think it's a pretty neat idea but assuming it is next to impossible? And most of you will probably yell at me for suggesting this lol.

Re: manual window

I'd say it'd be very do-able, but not sure why sometimes.... Just a pain to have to pull all the wiring, pull the old motors, set up the mechanisms, make sure the window lines up, create some brackets, cut into the door panels, etc. At least you have a small piece of glass to work with.

Woweeee. For maximum response, you should have suggested that the colour(color) of the switches be changed to a pretty shade of yellow. Sun in the morning and the moon at night.

Re: manual window

There is no place "flat" enough on a SVX door to mount a crank.....so unless you plan to build new door panels, I say better off to leave it electric...

Re: manual window

I was wondering about the same thing a couple of weeks ago if any one had done it.

convert to manual window to save weight lol

Ive had a few problems with electric windows and thinking it would be nice to have ones that worked
switches wearing out or missing switches, motors packing up or even the rest of the mecanisium playing up.

Re: manual window

My '92 L has manual seats and I must say, I do not miss the electronics. All manual adjustments work like a dream. You might want to consider starting there.
