I had 2 turbo Impreza's:

First one a '97 sedan 555 serie & second one a '99 wagon. Great cars, I regret 'em both (so why was I so stupid to sold 'em hum? )!

I'll post some pics once at home.

My first was a '91 2WD Legacy...got me hooked on Subaru.
I love my SVX, but I fear I have strayed from the flock since I just bought a Dodge!

After driving a friend's '84 DL 4x4 wagon, I picked up an '80 DL 4x4 4speed wagon, which I drove till I couldn't cover the rust faster than it appeared, so sold it to a guy who just wanted the A/C.
Then got myself a '90 DL 4x4 5speed wagon that was only four years old.
After discovering what an SVX was, I found a cheap one and have just gone past 400K Klm's with it.
Don't know if I could go back to a 4 cylinder car now, maybe an Outback 6 next, but only if I need the internal space.
Arthur.

I've only had two subarus, my first being a 1990 Legacy 4dr. sedan and my current SVX.
I do come from a family with plenty of Subaru ownership
My father had (1) 1983 Brat(red), (2) 1985 Brats(White and Blue), (1) 1989 Turbo Coupe (currently putting a lift kit on for his off-road pleasure) and currently has a 1998 Impreza RS
My mother has had a 1985 legacy, 1992 impreza, 1995 impreza outback and currently has a 2005 Baja
Oh yeah and my sister has a 1995 legacy

My first subaru was a 1990 Legacy wagon, fully loaded, I absolutely loved it. I would probably still have it if my father inlaw hadnt talked us into trading it in for a newer car that he paid the difference on. We traded it for a 1995 Legacy wagon L. It fell apart within a few months of having it and when I tried to buy back my old car they had taken it to the crusher. It may have been a little rusty but did not deserve that!!
After the second legacy wagon, I had a 1990 Subaru Justy ECVT with 70k miles. It was surprisingly fast for only having 73HP. It sadly met up with a mouse that desided to move in. Then the car found a new home.
Then I bought my current SVX. Which is having a different engine and a 4.44 transmission installed on as well as a bunch of little things.
I sadly cannot find a picture of my first legacy, but I have attached a picture of my second legacy, the justy and my current SVX.

I wanted to wait and try to find some pix, but they all seem to be on my old lap top with no way of getting them out it is time like this I wish I spent a few bucks for a jumpdrive/memory stick.

my first was identical to bwb3's 86 only it was white.
Sold many impreza and legacy... but only registered 4 of them as my own
Two 97 legacy 5 spd sedans one L AWD, one a "2.5 GT" <--a few of you know why the "" are needed.
98 Outback sport -gone
02 WRX 5 spd
Never registered, but drove a brat for about 2.5 months!
two SVX... one I kept is in my sig.
Always wanted a XT6, but have lost some intrest... now looking for one to work on and give to my father.
May also be interested in a hatch to lift.. but not for a year or so. (No room)

Significant Technical Input
I'm like Trevor...

My first was an early '70s FF1. Bought in a Denver bar (The Lift, in Glendale) from a enchanting young lady. Fortunately, her best attributes didn't include valve stems but the relationship with the FF1 lasted longer. As near as I recall, I bought it for $50, installed a electric fuel pump and sold it a couple months later.

Funny you should mention racing the FF1, Trevor. There used to be a track in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. that used FF1s for their one-lap rentals, in place of go-carts. Locked in second gear and a hefty roll cage installed, they were a hoot to drive. I think they may have also removed the shocks, those cars were similar to driving a hard-boiled egg.

Hi Beav,

Strange that I should pick up this post, but I take note of those from the worthy.

My FF1 Sports still has the original shocks and goes round corners extremely well. When I was racing it, good handling was exploited to the full and most overtaking most certainly did not occur in the straight stuff. Power it did not have to spare.

Cheers, Trevor.

Can I ask why you are putting a new engine and tranny in it? PM if you want to...
