Re: engine sound without intake resonator

I don't know of any.

There are threads here on how to remove it and how to modify it and some observations, but not much more. Based upon my own experiences in driving an SVX without the resonator, and comments from those who have done the mod, here are the facts.

The car has a loud "growl", though not a pleasant one, when it is under heavy acceleration. At cruising speed and normal acceleration, nothing worth mentioning.

No change in the gas mileage and no change in quickness.

Most who have done this mod had grown tired of the "noise" it generated and put the resonator back in.

Re: engine sound without intake resonator

Mine has intake resonator removed and running a Accel Kool Blue air filter. Also running Stebro cat back exhaust. on the highway it sound rather quiet. Don't think it is a good comparison with a fully stock exhaust and automatic. But here it is .
