Driver Side Door Stay Noisy???
My black 92 got an annoying squeak when open and close the driver side door. I tried the spay the silicon spay to the stay, but it didnt last very long before the noise return.
Any advice? Can the stay be replaced with the one on subaru legacy or impreza? Thanks

Get some Grease
You need glob on some good grease on all the hinges. Any spray will eventually wear off quickly. lThat should take care of it, if not, then something may be misaligned. Does your door open and close as it should. Let us know

Wow my ebony 92 does the same clicky thing when opening/closing.
Yes my door lines up fine and is in all lubed up. The noise seems to be in the hinge/stay. It clicks as the metal stay, that helps hold the door open, compresses and releases. I haven't had a chance to mess w/ it yet. But annoying to me. I'm gonna look into it soon though. |

Might check the spot welds?
Might check the spot welds?
Mine came loose before I bought it on ebay. Seller didn't think little things like that and the hood falling in a few seconds were worth mentioning. I drilled it (not the hood, the door thingie) and tapped threads into the bracket put in basicly flat head-hardened-threaded screws and no problem for almost 3 years. If the spot welds are coming lose, this could possibly help. If they arn't please disreguard this post! Take care, Keith |
