Sporadic Speedometer

Well, After Encountering my first major understeer in the SVX
(15mph curve, Light Drizzle, not enough to clean road of oil),
about 5min later, I was holding her nice at 40mph, when all of a sudden out
of the bottom of my eye I see my speedo needle drop to 20, then to 50 and back at 40, and It has happened to my mother a few times when she
has borrowed the car as well. I was wondering, Is this a sign of a bad
Speedometer Sensor.. or more related to the electrical connection between
the Dash and the Sensor.

And no, Not getting any Check Engine light, just the Sporadic Needle jumping,
and its every once in awhile, not all the time, more like 2% of the time.

Any Idea's? Thanks in Advance

Plenty, but you have covered the most likely and with a 2% intermittent, anybodies guess. Electrical connection a good bet and cheap to fix. Check this out first.

I had this problem a couple years ago with my old 5mt... The wires were corroded due to exposure and sometimes they didn't connect right... Anyway, check the wires like the rest have stated... make sure you check the terminals in the plug to be sure all is well there

I'd have to agree with Suby Fan, it sound like the early signs of a broken speedo gear. You may want to change your diff fluid and run it through a screen to look for pieces. Or you may not want to as it will put salt in the wound and the gear might fall right off and you will no longer have speedo function.
