Of course it will... If a shorted out cigar lighter is the only problem. Disconnect the lighter and put in a fuse and see if that blows. if the fuse blows, the lighter is not shorted.

Re: multiple problems

Not too long ago my 92 cig lighter separated from the wires (at the bottom under the lighter housing), could be you have loose wires at that spot and shorting. Tough spot to get to. Someone suggested pulling the ash tray and trying to reach the wires. The wires may just need to be tightened.

Re: multiple problems

j/w, can the cigarette lighter unit be removed?
i cant really disconnect it without it being taken out; even with the ash tray out

When the wires separated from the lighter housing (female part) I didn't know this had happened until I plugged in the cell phone charger, there was no power light on the charger so I pulled on the charger plug and the lighter housing came out with it. Try twisting the lighter housing, it may come loose. Hope the wires are still connected.

Re: multiple problems

its been a while that ive been experiencing this issue with my climate control, clock, and cig lighter not working
and after multiple attempts at removing the cig lighter, all failures, i decided to take my car in to the dealership (with the SVX mechanic)

turns out that a few wires under the drivers side vanity dash were frayed and shorting out
they cleaned it up and everything's all good now

just thought id fill everyone in, whether or not this ever happens to you

Re: multiple problems

Thanks - that is good to know. I would have guessed that it could have been the sun visor as well.

you know, its funny you mention that
i tried doing the "$2 visor fix" and they worked fine for about a day...and then started sagging again
so i use a spare dogtag i have lying around to hold it up

anyway, i noticed, after i got the car back that the dogtag i had up there was gone and my visor was sagging.
so he must have checked that

so now that you mention it, it might have also been a visor issue, because idk for sure how well i had those wires soldered back together

Re: multiple problems

The problem with the "$2 fix" is that the piece you put into the plastic to "fix" the sagging doesn't grip the other end. I'm currently toying with different fixes that are a bit more effective. I have completely stripped an old (bad) visor to experiment. Keep an eye out for a thread about my findings.
