Re: help trans wont engage in to gear
Tranny codes can be read without a reader. There are directions in the "how to" documents at the top of the page. They involve moving the shifter and using the "manual" button in a certain order to cause a blinking code through the power light.
You can also read ECU codes by plugging certain wires together and counting the "check engine" light.

Re: help trans wont engage in to gear
help please still cant figure it out drained the trans pan got 6 quarts and it was clean and no metal in it so put it back in and put 3 more quarts in, that did not help.
i did notice that when i start it then give it gas in any gear (which won't engage at all) it sound like some sorta fluid moving in there like a pump pumping, but i got nothing. any thing else i could do to try and fix it? |

Re: help trans wont engage in to gear
Did you drop the tranny pan and replaced the internal screen filter? How much fluid did you add?

Re: help trans wont engage in to gear
You need to check if the intake of the tranny is clogged or something is preventing the fluid from being circulated. So your homework is to get a WIX internal filter kit model 58969 and replace the internal filter and pan gasket (don't forget to install the new o-ring for the new filter too). Then add about 10 qts of ATF (Valvoline or Castrol Dexron III or compatible). Just check for the obvious things that might not be seated correctly.
