Steering: Turning right to lock, small bang.

My subject pretty much sums it up, when i turn the steering wheel right, aaaalllll the way to lock (When im standing still).. JUST before it locks, it makes a small bang noise and it definitely has nothing to do with the CVs, it's when im standing still... CVs were changed 2 months ago.

Any diagnosis? eeekk please don't be too expensive.

also, it's not a new noise that suddenly came up, it's been there for ages

I've had the same thing happen to me.Haven't noticed if it does it both ways.It only has happened when the car has been idle for a while and when it's cold.A problem you probably don't have! The steering seems to be fine now that it's out of storage and driven frequently.I don't have any leaks or pulling etc. so I'm ignoring it right now.Sorry I couldn't help much but I can sympathize. Strut bearing siezing up? If you can get the car off the ground, try turning the wheels lock to lock by hand (push on the wheel from the outside) and see if the top of the spring moves smoothly with the wheel turning, or if it sticks and then pops ahead.
