The other thing to keep in mind is that you want a car that is comparable to yours, not just a SVX. You want it "replaced", not just get another SVX. You insurance agent should be helping you get the settlement. If they don't, I would be looking for another agent.

Actually, your insurance agent can't help you. File a claim with your insurance company (provided you have collision coverage) and your adjustor will help you.

If you don't have COL coverage, then you have SOL coverage and will have to deal with the other company.

You just need to find out what CT DOI procedures are for comparable autos for a 3rd party claimant. Any insurance lawyer should be able to consult you on that with little or no charge.
