Re: 5sp ??

i drove it again today to get emissions...it passed thankfully cause the engine runs a lil rought, but it passed

im still stumped on what the cause is of it not driving like it should. i dont smell clutch due to slippiage, howver that is how it drives...like it is slipping. pedal feels great and grabs inch or two from the floor but when it comes to acceleration.....

so, im thinking its the flywheel only because its the only part i didint replace with new.

any ideas to trouble shoot before i blow $400 and my time? lol

Re: 5sp ??

If the clutch you used is too weak, that would also cause it to slip. Maybe you should have someone else drive it and see if it's really slipping before you do anything.

Re: 5sp ??

You don't need to get a new flywheel. If that happens to be the issue, you can just get the stock one cut unless you are looking into getting a lightweight flywheel. I second getting someone else to check out how it drives. What clutch kit did you use and what transmission. Generally a Stage 1 or most times a stage 2 clutch kit from a reputable brand is recommended. A stage 1 or stage OEM will not hold up since the torque ratings for the transmission the car was pulled from did not have 230 ft/lbs of torque and will cause it to slip under more power.

Hope that helps/explains things a bit.

Re: 5sp ??

I put in an ACT clutch kit that is rated at 308ftlbs

Had my dad drive it and we messed with pedal adjustment and the actual clutch adjustment too no prevail. We are goin to pull the trans out in a few weeks....feels like there is something preventing the clutch to press against the flywheel like It should....
