Your thoughts on this wheel please

O.Z. Superturismo GT.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Displ...t+Silver+Paint

I like the look of the wheel but not sure about it on an SVX (specifically my Laguna)

17x8 in bright silver.

Yeah or Nay? Jam it of slam it?

Todd

hey todd,
they're pretty sweet. I don't think i've actually seen them on a svx, but i think this style comes close...

todd,

i think it would look good on your car...especially the silver wheel against the blue.

one thing (for me anyway) is that the wheel has a lot of open space so I think you would need plated rotors and/or painted calipers...

...the OEM rust look coupled with the high-end look (& bucks) of OZ wheels.

What blue? Ok, the Laguna - but Luguna what? Did you get another SVX?

Todd,
I think it would work with the Laguna. My only comment is that it has been done before. Don't you want to be "different"?

i've yet to see an oz rim that looks bad on any subaru. really, they go together like berry white and wine, baby. like bass guitar and funk. like a stoner and a 311 concert.

Thanks for the input guys

Earl-I purchased two SVX's last fall. I'm just about done parting one out ('92 Dark Teal) and the Laguna (''94 L, FWD) will become my toy car once I've got my other Teal running again.

I know similar designs have been done and I'm typically not a big fan of multiple small spoke wheels as it means multiple small spaces for brake dust to hang up , but a couple of things are appealling to me about these. First, the 16 spokes effectively distribute the forces on the wheel and should make them pretty stiff for a cast wheel. Second, they're made by O.Z., so they can't be too bad . Third, I think I can get them for considerably less than the price at Tire Rack in 17" x 8" with a high offset (>48mm). Finally (Bill), I can always get them powdercoated if I decide I really can't stand being like everyone else

Todd

there you go! I knew you'd find a way to be "unique"
-Bill (wondering if Todd will figure out a way to get a powdercoated rainbox effect )

They're nice for $261 a piece at Tire Rack. How about for less then $100 a piece. More appealing to you fence sitters???

Hmmm, did you find some guy selling them out of the back of a van? :-) I'm sure they'll look great, but my one thought is that they are going to be a PITA to clean! Because I have so little free time these days, things like that really matter to me. BTW, how much do they weigh? What size tire would you slap on the wheels?
