Clunking

I have noticed that the svx clunks a lot when going over bumps and also the handling is not great at the front. I took the front wheels off and had a good look around. I have noticed that lower ball joint boots have split and the grease as been squeezed out ( all over the inside of the wheels!) While under there I greased up everything using silicone grease and changed the front brake bads.
Would be best to replace the lower ball joints or can you get boot kits? If so for either where would be the best place to source these parts from? I have searche eBay but no joy at the moment. There are some universal boot kits but I have no idea what size to order.

Also on a different subject, how many svx's are on the road in the uk now?

Re: Clunking

I've just had mine changed and bought them from the U.S.A. from Rock auto parts quick delivery as well you can get the CV boots as well because there was no U.K. source when I tried to get them. Buying parts from the States is dead easy and the only way to go really.

Re: Clunking

I managed to source these from the US in the end. I did attempt to change them today but I couldn't get the bolts to shift!! Going to take to a friend who has some better tools and grunt than me on saturday.

Re: Clunking

I would also check your tie rods and ends for play as well.

You are replacing both front ball joint assemblies, correct?
