I run a light truck 16in on my car as I get a extra 1in clearance underneath. The only time they hit is when the car bottoms out and it is the back top of the wheel well. Interesting thing is in Australia the cars all read the incorrect speedo by reading to high now with the larger wheel it is spot on and I am comparing to a GPS. Go for it I have had mine on for 120,000 k and not one problem.
