O/T - B11S is a wannabe!

this is the only pig-nosed, two-toned car i'd ever own. 1001hp and AWD, need i say more? now i need to scrape up over $1,000,000 for the Veyron. how much would insurance be?

If you have to ask....

Standard retort from olde worlde Rolls Royce salesmen.

This car is not for you, if you need to ask. Chunky looking thang, isn't it Alan. I prefer the look of the older EB-110.

Long ago I came to the conclusion that serious power and performance can relatively easily deliver 170-180+ mph. Loads of bikes can do this for small money, and the CD of a bike and rider is extemely poor. Going faster than 200 mph seems to involve a whole new set of parameters, almost like a "sound barrier" The Maclaren F1 was the first to comprehensively break this particular glass ceiling, but at crazy cost. 700 or more hp seems to be the formula.

Joe, I agree with you. I absolutely love the EB-110. I don't care for the Veyron.

i don't care for the styling, and i certainly wouldn't be able to do 200+mph anywhere around here, but IMAGINE THE ACCELERATION!!! i'd love to know what 1001hp feels like under my right foot.

The wrong kind of "movement"

<i'd love to know what 1001hp feels like under my right foot.>

I have a feeling that I would know what it would feel like between my butt and the seat!

You are obviously not a bike man Alan. With the likes of the Suzuki Hayabusa [Falcon] the output is 170+ hp. Bike plus rider weigh 300-350 kgs, so the power to weight ratio is 500:1 or more.

With the Veyron power to weight is maybe better than 600 bhp per tonne. Not much more than a very fast bike.

Can't say for cars, but using all the power on a very fast bike feels really quick and scary. It will be trying to throw you off backwards, and very little of a mistake will make it hairy real quick.

I drove a quick TVR, and it certainly feels fast. Does not have the security we take for granted with the SVX 4wd. However, an SVX with enough power to overcome the available grip and the chassis would also feel nervous.

my dad recently had a 150hp Triumph Daytona - that thing was a monster! i've seen him injure himself in various ways over the years racing motocross and just riding streetbikes, so i kinda prefer to have a few thousand pounds of steel wrapped around me when i'm going fast, thank-you. even the best motorcycle rider can be messed up by one idiot yakking on a cell phone in their mini-van.
