Good deal on a great oil filter

I just bought 4 Bosch 72158 Premium Oil Filters off of Amazon. The 4 filters come to $30 but Bosch is running a $2 rebate on each filter (max of 4 per household) which means I got the 4 filters for $22 or $5.50 each. These filters are basically oversized Purolator PureOne filters that should fit the SVX. The PureOne filters filter 99.9% of 20um particle and about 98% of 10um particles. For filtration, these might be the best filters we can buy. For flow rate, the K&N and Purolator standard filters are still a little better but, if we are already moving to a 60% larger filter, flow rate shouldn't be an issue.

Good deal! Have you ever used the Amsoil high efficiency filters?

No, but they rate highly in every test I have seen. But they don't offer a filter in the larger size. And the higher filtration will probably come at the cost of lower flow rates. A standard filter with higher than average flow resistance would concern me a little. Plus, I am considering extending my OCI to 6000 or 7500 miles and like the idea of more filter area and filter volume one gets with the oversized filters. If either Amsoil or Royal Purple offered their filters in the larger size, I would probably lean toward them.

I won't be sure until I try them but they supposedly fit the 1989 Porsche 944 which is the reference point for larger filters that will also fit the SVX. For example, several people have used the Purolator 30165 and I have used the K&N HP-4001. This filter cross references with those.
