Exhaust Questions???

How do I get the exhaust studs off and where can I buy some new ones?
I remember there is a special tool to get the studs off but I dont remember what is it called?
Also what size are the studs?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Exhaust Questions???

Never used a tool until now was not aware there was a tool. However here is a link to one.

I have used vice grips, monkey wrench, and of course the good ole torch. You could use two nuts on one stud and unscrew that way, unfortunately for you the studs on your car are pretty much toast. In my opinon I think your best bet is to find something that can grip that stud, heat the flange area only with a torch or even propane if thats all you can get. (cheapest) Heat the flange only not on the stud ( defeats the purpose) Get it nice and hot and try to back the stud out with your preferred method. Or you could give the stud remover a try! Let me know if that works!

Studs should be available at advanced, autozone, or napa i would imagine. Obviously they will be metric.

PS just thought about this. The best bet for you is going to be, just pull the manifolds off the parts car. If i recall none of them broke correct? Pull the manifolds that will make it easier for you to get the studs out and put new ones in. Then just pull the manifolds off the good car and swap with new manifolds with new studs and nuts! Done.
