Applying for a lost title
I was wondering if anybody has applied for a lost title for a vehicle. I have a chance to get a good truck for $300 but the person that currently has it bought it from a local service station as it was abandoned on the interstate. He was going to use it for an engine but wouldnt fit in his truck. The state I live in is Tennessee. Thanks Damian

Not sure how it works in Tennessee, but in Missouri so long as you can show a valid bill of sale it's usually not a problem. It may take longer because as I recall the DMV may trace the previous owner through the VIN to ensure it was abandoned. If they get no response then they proceed to cut you a title.
It's been many years since I did it in Missouri... so don't put too much stock in what I say All kinds of things have changed since 2001... you might be labeled a terrorist. |

Well the person who owns it now is a friend of the family bought it from a service center out of Nashville 6 months ago for parts but it is not a salvaged vehicle. It is a 1990 model and from what I understand 10 years is a limit on most vehicles. I appreciate any help
