Happy St Patrick's Day!!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all have a Happy St Patrick's Day!

Because it is on a weekend we have a lot of visitors here this year, from the US, from all over.

The weather is a little unkind and untypical, we have a cold north wind blowing. However, fun will be had, even if we have to head indoors!

Joe

Joe, you are behind the times, It has all already happened down here and with gusto.

The Irish spread their wings far and wide. My mother's name was Harrop.

Thanks Trevor

The Irish spread more than their wings, if you check the names in any of the local phone books.

Thanks Huck, thanks Jen. I'm about to sit down and watch Ireland playing Italy in Rome. It will be a good tough match. If we win, which we hope to, and if we win with a big margin, then we will win the Six Nations Cup, a Pretty Big Thing.

Keep your fingers crossed for the Irish. We need plenty of Luck and big cojones for this one.

Joe

No Lee, not League.

No Powder Puffs and no Poofter body armour either. This a man's game.

Unfortunately, although we eclipsed the Italians by a large margin, the French managed to beat the Scots in Paris in the last second of the game to defeat Ireland's points differential by One Point!

So it looks like we are second in this year's Six Nations.

Well, the World Cup is coming up, we can wait to get our own back.

Joe

Totally true, Bill.

Plus, I am deeply impressed you spell whiskey in the same way we Irish who invented it spell the word.

[The sun is over the yardarm in France and Italy, so you are right, we will celebrate]

Congrats on your win and good luck in the next level of competition. (After rereading this, I see my error---not being up on soccer, I missed the point differential aspect)

But, "man's game"?? I seem to recall our college girls play soccer and rugby, but not football.

Just joking of course, I do understand that the fairer sex cannot compete on the same level in soccer. Rugby is definitely a very rough and tumble game, but just not quite as brutal as football even with some "Poofter" padding. And of course, soccer is in a league by itself.

Some years ago in Atlanta, I passed up a chance to see a World Cup game to go to a Hockey game going on at the same time. See our priorities!

Ah, sorry Lee, I misinterpreted your post. A bit. When you mentioned League, I thought you were talking about Rugby League, which is a tough enough game, but a little bit precious.

No, the Six Nations is Rugby Union, not Soccer. Rough and tumble as you say.

I am not a fan of soccer. I refuse to understand a game where nobody scores, 0-0 end of game, and they have the gall to say the away side won!! If nobody scored, nobody won.

I prefer high scoring games.

And soccer is a little girl's game. They are forever rolling around in feigned agony, trying to get gamesmanship advantage. They should get Oscars and tutus at the end of the Premier League, instead of cups. It would be more true to the spirit of how they play "The Wonderful Game".

Hey, if you like hockey, you might like our native game of Hurling. It is a bit like hockey, but faster and more {I was going to say dangerous } contact.

Joe
