Aircon compressor, isn't cutting in and out.

Hey, for a couple of months now the compressor clutch hasn't been snapping in and out.
I already know it's leaking or was leaking but that shouldn't stop the clutch from attempting to pop in and out.

Can someone lead me to some places in the car where I can look with a multimeter or what not so when I fix everything up I can just tackle it all

Thanks, Jordan.

Low freon level will disable the system to prevent damage.. it might be that.

Re: Aircon compressor, isn't cutting in and out.

sweet good, I hope so.

Can anyone here source seals for an SVX compressor or know if seals are even available?

ps I also have an aircon code 13 which is from the sunload sensor and you need a 100W light too see if that's working BUT if I have more than one code, how will I know?
Thanks, Jordan.

Re: Aircon compressor, isn't cutting in and out.

system may be just low on gas - quick way to check is set of gauges on low & high side.
If HP side can barely supply pressure going thru TX Vv, it will not cut out on high pressure - meaning clutch will always stay engaged.
Also try the aircon set at higher temp, say 25degs, and with little load on the system clutch may well operate as specified (indicating your definitley low on gas)

cheers

I think the clutch stays engaged all the time the AC is turned on. The Aircon controller just modulates the stroke of the compressor to suit the needs.
