But what's with the wheels over there
It seems that all three cars had one wheel or another backwards.
Thanks, Andy.
If I'm to try to fit a (or some) viewings into our schedule, found out where they are, and mileage, etc. Or get me a contact email.
That would be great.

If you contact me about a week before your visit, I will send you updated details. By then some may have been sold, and new ones on the market

Tone-

I looked at the pictures.

First of all, the Econ button the shift selector allows you to change the shift map of the transmission. With the button depressed, the transmission will run in 'economy' mode which will cause it to shift at lower rpms, thus saving gas. With the button disengaged, it will shift at higher RPMs for a more 'sporty' feel. This feature was only available in certain markets, that is why some around here are unfamiliar with it.

Second, the wear to the car looks about average for the miles logged. This is by no means a showpiece of an svx, but I dont see any major red flags (in my opinion.) The rear has, without a doubt, seen some body work, but it doesnt look like it was bad.

I hope that helped, even if just a little.

Best,

Mike

Tone. purchased yet?

Hi Tone

Did you do the deed and buy the yellow submarine?

Be nice to have a yellow car on the forum, for aggravation and for diversity.

Colin, I noticed this also, and I have a theory.

When travelling to Birmingham for the Classic Car Show, I have noticed that most of my English friends have a "thing" about tyre rotation. They are fastidious about rotating wheels so that tyres will wear evenly. Possibly the local mechanics are doing this rotation as part of the service, without being too well up on the fact that the right and left wheels are different.

I have never been a great fan of wheel rotation myself, for the purpose of getting all the tyres to wear evenly. This causes the car to be rolling on a full set of tyres with close to minimum tread for a while just before tyre changes. Personally, I lean towards having the pair with most tread and grip on the front, as an aid to better braking and resistence to aquaplaning in the wet.
