Re: WTB: Tranny

i think most people will be suggesting just to do a swap with another automatic or a manual swap

I just did a swap on one of the svx's with 4.44 that would be the best option. I got mine from 96 legacy.

Re: WTB: Tranny

I have a lower mileage 4.44 auto trans and rear diff with limited slip already swapped, or otherwise can sell a stocker trans as well. Either works

Re: WTB: Tranny

With a 92 if u don't rebuild it look for a newer tranny or do the 4.44 swap and get it over with.
Just curious .... If you do a swap with say a 96 Legacy is it still a 4 speed ?

all Phase1 4eat's are 4 speeds, hence "4"eat
This is the trans used on all legacy, impreza and SVX until the midyear change in 98 when they went to the phase2 4eat. A few years later is when the 5eat came out as an option.

Not a bad price at all. Local shop I assume? and a full rebuild or only rebuilding what is needed? Be sure to post back how well it holds up.
