Removing ABS

I am wanting to take out my abs system...

to do this should i just take out the main unit and all the brake lines ran from the master brake cylinder to the abs unit and then to each brake?

And to reinstall brake lines, would i just run brake lines from the master brake cylinder to each brake?

Help me out.... thanks

Re: Removing ABS

There are 2 lines going into the ABS pump. One goes to FR and RL, the other goes to FL and RR. Get a flare tool, 2 "T's", and 6 compression nuts. Rebend some of the lines and do all the connections right up where the pump used to be.

Re: Removing ABS

I think I get what you are trying to do but not sure why. Even older cars without ABS had proportional valves to make sure you had the proper brake fluid line pressure going to the fronts vs the rear brakes. It also might make your brakes feel pretty soft and ineffective. However, if I get what Hocrest was saying I think he was saying remove ABS pump, you should have the 2 lines that go to the master cylinder. Take one line and connect it using a t fitting to the lines originally connected to the pump marked FR & RL (Front Right and Rear Left) then take the other line coming from the master cylinder and using another t-fitting connect it to the other remaining two lines FL and RR.
