Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project

I was wondering about tow hook accessibility in case the car needs to be flat-bedded. Seems the hooks are completely hidden and that towing cables could damage the bottom of the bumper.

But upon closer examination, it appears that the lower duct openings are non-functional and are there for the tow cables to pass through them to get to the tow hooks.

Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project

I think this add on is great Dayle. I just wish you can take a mold of it together with the OEM bumper and fab complete ones instead of being an add-on.

There is one thing I would like to share with the forum about my front custom bumper that I never mentioned before. The one I have currently is a V3 of the original one. When I had my small accident long time ago, I fixed it again but then re-did.. again and this is still not the final version.

The problem again is that the SVX has a long nose prone to hitting road bumps if the car is lowered or an aftermarket bumper is installed.

The secret to a successful agressive bumper is three important modifications:
A- Shortening the side width of the bumper, the thing highlighted in blue.
B- Working on the frontal clearance of the bumper, what is highlighted in yellow.
C- Fabbing a separate front lip... as I did with my bumper. This lip is screwed on each side with two bolts and nuts just in case I crack it, I can remove it alone and fix it. BTW it should be made of material LIGHTER than the bumper itself (or else the bumper will crack instead on impact).

Didn't mean to highjack the thread, sorry Dayle... just some thoughts

you can install is with simple 3m tape and
self tapping screws, or you can use a urethane
epoxy like Dura Mix and glue it on with self tappers in the wheelwell. Using Duramix would make it more
permanent.
Which answers the question about towing the car, it comes off in a few minutes if you had to, toss it in the car and put it back on after you fix the car.
Simply put, you either want to buy one or you dont at this point. By the looks of things, theres not enough interest so Im not pushing it anymore.

Dont blame me, I just asked for 10-15 people to hop on
board and pre order one.
All I got where comments on how it was ugly, it wasnt
aerodymanic, and ideas how to change it blah blah..
Maybe one or two positive comments (thanks for those of course)
The deal can still happen if we get real interest.

Couldn't you use the lower duct openings, which are non-functional, to get to the tow hooks? I am not too fond of taking the bumper off and putting it back on repeatedly. My luck would be to break down on a dark, cold, rainy night and need to be towed.

Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project

Probly, or i can Fab up some new tow hooks that extend down to match up with the holes in the bumper.. since the bumper is that low anyways, a tow hook 2" up from the bottom wouldn't be in the way. maybe a mount you can screw a hook into like on the legacy.. only when needed..

Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project

S204 lip fits our cars almost perfectly and that's enough for me. Sorry. But that's all I'm willing to spend till I can TOTALLY build an SVX from the ground up.
