Re: Beer can Chicken..

Butt Chicken(beer can in it's butt) has been around for years. I saw Woody Harrelson on TV cooking one many moons ago.

I have 'heard' about it for years too. TONIGHT, I TRIED it!!

GOOD stuff!! I'm glad that everyone else had their dinner before I got done 'simmering' it to perfection!!

All that is left is a thigh!

I sprinkled it with seasoning salts and wrapped it in foil. I placed it onto the rack that contained the beer. (can shoved up the butt). It went on the cold side of the grill.. (The side with no fire) and simmered for about 2 hours;.
When the smoke started, I put the rig into a pan and poured more beer into it.

I have 2nd degree burns on my fingers froim trying to get at the next bite!!

RECOMMENDED by the chef!

I have had the pleasure of cooking at many SVX mini-meets in Wiley's Ford.
THIS might have to make it to the menu for future meets!

Re: Beer can Chicken..

you don't taste the beer (atleast I can't taste it). I have done this with a turkey once and I got rave reviews from some harsh critics (family).

Juice box might be more your speed their Brett.

Re: Beer can Chicken..

Most grocery stores will have them, under a heat lamp, mini chickens, all rotisaried up and ready to go. Serves one male 18-34, or 2 people of any other age/sex.

I'm alright now, i had ramen.
