Recipe for Great Commute

Start with one GREAT car:

SVX of course

add:

1 Heavy Rain (missing for over a month!)
30 miles of open highway
3 Fast Lanes
1 Cruise Control (set to 80)
1 Chet Atkins CD
175 friends who understand

0 Cops
0 Idiots

Best early in the morning, say 5:30am.

I couldn't be happier with this car and my commute. At first I thought the longer drive would suck. But then, I'm driving an SVX. Look at it this way. I get to drive in my wonderful car 84 miles a day - at high speed.

Jeff, for some reason, I never pictured you as a Chet Atkins man.

I've been doing an 80 mile round trip for nearly 8 years now. I've done it in a Peugeot 505sti, a Triumph Spitfire, a Suzuki Sidekick and now . . . well, you know.

I am fortunate to have a choice of routes. I can take the winding country road with just enough straightaways to "cruise" into the next curve, or, I can take the Parkway (with one toll booth) and let the ponies loose. This is far and away the best car I've ever owned or ridden in (Okay, maybe the stretched, extended Fleetwood with TV, VCR, Nintendo, phone, fridge and fully stocked bar was a little better to "ride" in), and I've driven and ridden in some pretty nice cars. Of course, a lot has to do with the styling of the cabin. It's spacious, yet wraps itself around you and embraces you like a trusted friend. I'd better stop now before I become "aroused." The car is both sensual and sensational, I believe that says it all.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe we're the only ones who feel this way, and that's why the car didn't sell? Yeah, most of the people who ride in or see my car have something to say. But there are plenty of people I have met that simply never liked the SVX.

Incidentally, my favorite new-car cabin is the Toyota Celica. Yeah, some of the plastic has a GM-chinsy feel to it, but that is one comfortable, cozy car to sit in.

ever sat in.....

the new eclipse gt. this car has a great cockpit. honestly when i was having all the tranny trouble, i almost traded the svx for a 2001 silver eclipse gt. 200 hp, a nice little exhaust note and mods out the yin yang. screw it, i love the svx and now i will never get rid of it.

No, Ron. You probably just need a plain ol' shower. Those long road miles'll put the "funk" on you real fast.
