Tulip Time/May Mayhem Run.

Our run yesterday was a fun one and seemed to be enjoyed by all. No rain on our drive at all. We took a lot of back roads not used before on runs and made some scenic stops that were used before. We saw and photographed some tulips (for Aly) and had lunch at the Farmhouse Restaurant. The food was delicious and service was great for our group. We took more backroads and stopped at Deception Pass Park's North Beach where there is a good view of the bridge and we saw tugs pulling and pushing a bunch of logs from west to east to go under the bridge. We then went to West Beach, near Cranberry Lake, for the obligatory photo op. The tide was really low. On to more back roads and we had to slow down for two beautiful deer out in the road. Next photo op was at Windjammer Park, at Oak Harbor's city beach. We walked several blocks in the park and Aaron found a bunch of shells on the beach. We drove along Penn Cove, Madrona Way, Ebey Landing, and a stop at Fort Casey for another photo op and a walk through the fort area. We saw several deer munching grass in the fort area. I personally got photos of one. More back roads to Greenbank and stopped on Wonn Rd for a photo op/rest stop and checked out the cheese shop. There is an art gallery, a cafe with delicous pies, and a wine tasting/buying shop. More back roads then on to Clinton to ride the ferry to Mukilteo and a short drive to Everett's Museum of Flight and Boeing Store parking lot. We had a good view of new Boeing planes and 2 Dreamlifters. Then on home from there. For those of you who missed the drive

Sounds like a great day and great drive!

How did you fit all that in one day? Did it go until 10pm?

Check out the photos and I think you'll get a pretty good idea.

More Photos.

I had a few more scenic photos and the one taken at the ending point, at the Everett Boeing Museum of Flight and store, but didn't have enough room to post in my album in the gallery.

I wish it would have been a few weeks later. Ive been to where you went, and its a cool place... Im waiting to get my car up to par (I hope in the next couple weeks) After that, some of us could still get together somewhere by Seattle again. Maybe another maintenance meet??

SVX Run.

The scenic stops were fun and the tide was really low leaving interesting things in small pools plus lots of kelp covered rocks. Deer, at Fort Casey, were out eating grass in the late afternoon. We had originally scheduled the run for mid to late April but delayed it as it coincided with the Reading, PA, thing and the tulips were blooming a bit late this year. Fuddman posted well in advance, even the change of date, and announced the May date at the maintenance meet and at the banquet. We did two trial runs, setting up the run and checking the mileage to put down.

I for one appreciate the efforts and am sorry the date didn't work out for me.

Maybe everyone is rebelling because I said I was ending NWSVX and we would do fine just using these forums.

I don't get it, the forums alone always work for Reading, why not for us? Does no one in the NW hang out here?

I also had plans for that Sat and could not make it. I would have liked to go, but I was on a boat that went under that bridge and by the beach. I went out to the San Juans to go shrimping. Had a great time, but would have liked to go on the drive as well.

I don't know why members don't hang out here as much, but I guess they don't. I am here 25 hours each day, so I see all of the events, but don't see much of others here.

We check this forum.

Fuddman and I check this forum all of the time and don't understand why no one else seems to. It is discouraging.
